two ambigrams: MAN and WOMAN

While trying to make an ambigram of the name Amanda, I inadvertantly made one of MAN. That led me to try to create one for WOMAN, which was not so easy.

The Feb. 14th Post

I made this drawing of my dear friend Sadie Haycraft one year ago today. She didn't know I was drawing her until I was almost finished with it; I didn't know I was drawing her until it dawned on me that I could.

For the record, she does have a nose (I just didn't draw it), as well as the piercings around her lips. The tiny heart was stuck onto her cheek.

The Introductory Post

My name is Denver Grantz. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lived here most of my life, actually. I've been creating art (in varying degrees) for most of my life as well.

Not a whole lot of people know of my artistic endeavors. I didn't receive (nor did I seek) any formal art training after high school. I've never been hired as an artist for any significant length of time. I've never had any gallery shows. Now it doesn't mean that I've never done anything with my talents... I've drawn the occasional tattoo, painted a skateboard or two, designed images for T-shirts and stickers, even won a few awards back in the day. But in all the years I've been dabbling with art, I've never really done anything significant with my talents. This blog is a small step in gaining some level of exposure, as well as encouragement to keep creating.

I wanted to have a place where I could interact with other artists, a place to display my drawings, designs, and anything else art-related... including my new-found love for ambigrams. Might as well start with the first ambigram I ever did: my first name, drawn two months ago.
